Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Business Development to join our team in the fast-paced and ever-evolving field of life sciences. As the Director of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving our growth strategy, identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, and forging strategic partnerships that will propel our company to new heights.

Responsibilities:

1. Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential growth areas within the life sciences industry.

2. Business Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development and go-to-market strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.

3. Lead Generation: Generate and maintain a robust pipeline of potential partnerships, collaborations, and business opportunities with distributors, universities, research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and other relevant organizations.

4. Relationship Building: Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and investors, to drive successful collaborations.

5. Negotiation: Lead negotiations and contract discussions, ensuring favourable terms and agreements that align with company goals and compliance requirements.

6. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to the business development and after sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

7. Financial Analysis: Evaluate the financial feasibility of potential deals, including revenue projections, cost-benefit analysis, and ROI assessments.

8. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development efforts with research, development, and commercialization strategies.

9. Reporting and Analytics: Regularly report on business development activities and progress to senior management, leveraging data-driven insights to refine strategies.

10. Compliance: Ensure that all business development activities adhere to industry regulations and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

1. Masters degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

2. Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or related roles within the life sciences industry.

3. Proven track record of successfully bringing a product to the market, identifying and executing strategic partnerships and collaborations.

4. Strong understanding of the life sciences market, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and healthcare.

5. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

6. Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.

7. Analytical mindset with proficiency in financial modelling and analysis.

8. Ability to thrive in a scale up environment that is fast-paced and results-driven.

9. Strong ethical and compliance orientation.
